Wow, Max is 8 weeks old today! I'm sorry that I have not kept up my blogging the last few weeks, it was a rookie Mom mistake to assume that I would have time to actually sit down and write anything with a newborn baby. I though he would be sleeping most of the day (which he is) and that I would be able to run around and get work done (but he sleeps on me!). However, I am loving every minute I spend with him and I realize that this time with him is precious.
Max is growing well and gaining in both length and weight. He has outgrown all of his newborn clothes and most of his 0-3 month stuff as well. It is a little sad, he had some really cute things that I hate to get rid of, but I'm sure someone needs good clothes for their baby. I will probably hang onto just my favorites. Max is holding his head up really well, although he still bobbles some, but definitely getting stronger. He is also starting to sit up as you will see in the pictures. We just unpacked the bumbo chair this evening, and he really did well sitting in it for a few minutes. He also likes his bouncy chair and still naps from time to time in his swing. Max has started smiling more and more and may be working up to his first giggles! We have tried to catch this with the camcorder, but he usually only gives us one shot right now, so we are having trouble capturing it, but I think soon he will really be getting with it! He also enjoys music and we have downloaded multiple Rockabye Baby tunes which are scaled down versions of popular songs made into lullabies. This means that we don't go insane listening to that same old songs over and over. Instead we jam out to Led Zeppelin and the Beatles.
Max has his two month appointment next Friday, so I will be able to update with a current weight and length. I dread going because he will be getting multiple immunizations. Poor baby, but it will probably be harder on me than it will be on him. Thankfully Curtis will be there to hold us all together!
