Birthday and Christmas preparations

As usual, life has a way of slipping by and I am way behind on my blogging.  I really want to keep up with my blogging as it has become the best way for Curtis and I to look back to remember what Max was like as a toddler.  We especially want to keep putting videos up now that Asher is really starting to talk.

So the last couple of weeks we have been so busy.  Asher and Max both had birthdays and all of the fun that comes along with them.  We have also been doing all of the normal Christmas preparations.  We will actually be in Florida for Christmas and the following week,  but we still had a lot of fun decorating and taking advantage of all of the events around Waco.

These first few date back to Thanksgiving.  Papa spent a few days here with us, and on Thanksgiving day we were joined by Jason, Natalie and Cash.  We never seem to get pictures on Thanksgiving… I think its because before we eat we are too busy getting everything ready and after we eat we are just too full and lazy to try and pose.  Haha!  Curtis and Jason took the kids down to the creek behind the house, and Curt took these few pics.  Max and Cash waded right into the water.

Asher loves to hang out on the edge and throw in rocks. And then throw in rocks.  Followed by throwing in some rocks.
Decorating the little tree.  Asher puts the star on top.
Asher decided that he had looked at Grandma and Grandpa's wrapped birthday gift long enough! We let him open it a couple of days early.
This was his last picture as a 1 year old.
Max got some good creek wading boots and some new stomp rockets from Grandma and Grandpa.  All have been put to good use.

Decorating the real tree.  Asher points at it and says "Buful Tee" which translates into beautiful tree.

Waco Wonderland!  The boys colored pictures while we waited to see Santa
And here's the big man himself.  Asher's nervous pose is to stick out his tongue.  This was the only one that it wasn't completely obvious.  Max asked for a light saber… I wonder if Santa will remember?
Asher and I wandered while daddy and Max stood in line for the ferris wheel.  Asher had his nose painted and took a cute picture!
 Max loves the ferris wheel!

The carousel was new this year so Asher had something to ride as well.  Max called the rooster and Asher was more than happy to ride the "Neeeigh"
On our way for a birthday party!  Asher was crying part of the way… I think he was confused because  he had just woken up from his nap.  It didn't take long for him to get with the birthday program.
The bitty birthday boy wanted me to jump in the foam pit with him.  I obliged! It was actually quite nice until I had to crawl out.  Haha!
Max in his #6 shirt.  Couldn't get Asher to cooperate at this time.
This was the best I could do in getting the two of them in one picture.  #2 and #6!
 Daddy jumping with Asher.

They were some very happy, hot, sweaty and tired boys!

They both blew out their candles!

Birthday crew minus two.  We had DJ, Caden, Grace Ann, Luca, Eli, Jack, Adi and Oliver to help us celebrate.  Some friend from church, Luke and Eric, were also there, but stuck in the foam pit!

Max's celebration of life!  He held a representation of the earth and walked six circles around the sun.
Best buddies!  Eli Clark was not able to come to the birthday party so I made sure to get his picture with Max at the celebration.
 Blowing out his candles.
He had to lay out all of the months in a circle around the sun.
Asher loves all of the farm animals he received for his birthday.
And a couple of days after turning 6, Max lost tooth #3.  He has three more wiggly ones that will be following pretty soon.

Asher the conquerer… of Max anyway.

Can you feel the love? Me neither...

We Live!

I know, it has been a good LOOOOONG while since I've posted.  We have been really busy and I wish I could update you all, but this summer has been a mess for me school wise and I am under a lot of pressure to get ready to take my prelims next month.  It's only a four day examination over everything I've learned in the past 5 years… cake walk, right?  Ugh!  Here are some pics and a video or two to tide you over.

Official Easter picture for 2015.  We were freezing!!!
 Hunting eggs
Did I mention it was freezing?!?
 This kid loves the mud.
 Goofy goggles
 Last day of pre-K
Art on Elm festival.  Asher was loving the big bubbles.
Max loved making them

Max working on some art.  He would not leave until it was done.
I helped a little just to speed up his progress, but he did most of it alone.
AWESOME!!!

Speaking of art, Max did pottery camp this summer.  He loved it.
Trip to NM.  Hangin' with Papa.
Asher (and Max) LOVED swimming in Lili's pool.
 Max imitating a saguaro.
 Stare down
 The boys love Nanny
Well, maybe Max does… Asher is on the fence. :)
 We love Aunt Bennie too!
Max also did basketball camp at Baylor this summer.
AND he's about to lose his first tooth.
We bout Max a bball hoop after camp was over.  Curtis and I quickly tired of holding Asher up so he could make a swoosh down (what Max calls a bucket) and bought him his own, much smaller hoop.
