Sneaky Peek!

Hi everyone!
We had some photos taken over the weekend while Max's Grandma and Grandpa were here visiting us. I know that there are no pics of them on the blog... yet. Our photographer Rachel just sent me a few as a teaser and the rest will get to us next week or so. Many more of these wonderful pictures to follow. Thanks Rachel!

Max and his Daddy. Plus he has on his fire truck T-shirt that he LOVES!
I LOVE THIS!!!!! It will be blown up and wall papered in our house!

Sweet boy. Check back for more pics!

This is MY son for sure!

We were out yesterday enjoying a nice day (it has cooled somewhat here so the outside is an option again) and we found this jeweled scarab beetle in the driveway. Max wasn't sure he wanted to hold it at first, but after he gave it a try he didn't want to put it back down. He is so curious about nature and those of you who know me knows that I LOVE that!!!

Cultural Arts Festival 2011

Hi everyone!
Last Saturday was the CAF here in Waco and we thought we would check out the scene for the first time. It is geared mainly for older kiddos... there were tons of free arts and crafts for kids to do, but there were a few booths that were appropriate for Max. This video clip is of Max and Daddy painting a couple of statues they had along the river. Throughout the day kids would come and leave their own mark.

A fun day in the cul-de-sac

We were enjoying a nice evening outside letting Max stretch his legs. He loves to run now and it is getting difficult to keep up with him! Good thing there are two of us!

I am sorry that I have been so negligent to the blog as of late. There is so much going on during the week that by the end of the night I just feel like sitting down and doing little to nothing. I feel like just doing the easy day to day stuff is sapping all of my energy these days.

Max is doing so wonderful and is the brightest thing in our lives! I am continually amazed at how quickly he learns new words these days and he works so hard to communicate with us by repeating everything back. He has started to put two words together into a very basic sentence. For example, the other night we were finishing dinner and he kept saying "kitty, kitty!" (usually he won't quit saying a word until we acknowledge him saying the word) so one I repeated "kitty" back he added "chair!". I looked under the table and sure enough our big cat Corbin was sitting on one of the empty chairs across from me.

Max also knows his entire alphabet and says each letter by sight and is just now learning his numbers. We were so shocked how quickly he learned the letter and he was really the one who initiated it. He would point at letters on the cover of the book I was reading and I would tell him what each one was in turn. We have been trying to get a little demo on film, but anyone who has kids knows that all bets are off once the video camera is rolling.

Anyway, I am going to post a few videos tonight as Max is sleeping and Curtis is off at the Baylor football game. I had planned to take Max for the first half but he refused to nap this afternoon and needed to go to bed early. Oh well... there will be other games.

This video is of Max doing one of his most favorite activities which is playing "owside" on the deck squirting water with his "cup"!
