Yay! I am done with classes... until June 5th anyway. This was a good semester for me in that the courses were not too stressful so I was able to handle Mommy-hood and school. Next fall will really be a challenge though. I will be back to three courses and I've heard that two of them give lots of reading assignments. Ugh! Well I won't worry about that now... now is summer!
We have had a little progress on the solid food front. We started actual food, carrots, last Tuesday and he seems to like that better than the rice cereal. I still don't know how much he actually swallows, but he seems to spit out a little less than we put in.
Max does seem to be in the beginning stages of teething. He is a little extra fussy at nap time and is constantly rubbing his gums on anything he can get into his mouth (see the video Chin Monster for proof!). We have a bumpy pacifier that I will rub over his gums for relief and that seems to work OK. Lots of folks have been giving me advice about how to get through this period, some good and some I would never try!
He is still sleeping in bed with us, and I'm OK with that for now. He really doesn't wiggle around too much so we all rest easy this way. We are still spending time every day in the nursery playing and reading and I do lay him in his crib for short periods. I still hope that he will start to at least nap in his crib so that our summer babysitter doesn't have to hold him every second she is here with him.
Speaking of babysitters, I am interviewing a few next week and I think we will have no problem finding a good one. We just need somebody here for 3-4 hours a day, four days a week for the month of June. I think this will help ease into leaving him in the care of someone else, which is good because camp is coming soon!
Take care and enjoy listening to Max "talk". I sure do!
